Computer Data Projection is provided and we strongly encourage using PowerPoint-type presentations. The following equipment will be provided:

  • Data projector and screen(s)
  • A computer to which your presentation will be uploaded – you will not be able to use your own laptop.
  • Laser pointer
  • Lectern with a microphone.

You must provide an electronic copy of your presentation via email or Dropbox, one week prior to the conference (especially if your presentation contains audio and/or video). This is to ensure that presentations are appropriately inventoried and work on the conference computer. If you are unable to send the presentation a week prior, then please bring your presentation to the information/ registration desk to be uploaded 24 hours in advance, but no later than 3 hours, before your presentation. If you are unavoidably delayed, you must still go directly to the registration/information desk for assistance.

If your presentation has video content, you must supply all original video files along with your presentation. If you have embedded your videos and do not supply the original video files with your presentation, the videos will not play. All presentation computers are PCs, so if you have created your presentation on a Mac and have photo content, you must supply the original photo files with your presentation, otherwise, it is highly likely your photos will not display without the original file being present.

Presentation

Each presentation has been given a 20-minute timeslot (15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions). Please go to the room where you are a speaker at least 40 mins prior to the start of your session to meet with the moderator who will introduce your talk. Each session will be staffed with an AV technician who will manage the computer presentation. To facilitate seamless timing of presentations, the moderator will utilize coloured time cards. The green card means 5 minutes remaining, yellow means 2 minutes remaining and red means your time is up. If you have not completed your talk when the red coloured card is shown, the moderator will ask you wrap up with a final sentence.
